Description
Musician Brian Eno coined the term “scenius” to describe a group of creative individuals — artists, curators, thinkers, theorists, writers, tastemakers. He said this group makes up “an ecology of talent.”
Your staff is a scenius. You are the creative talent that packages the story, the genius on the scene.
Instead of maintaining absolute secrecy and hoarding your work until it’s published, be open about what you’re working on. Post bits and pieces of your work, your ideas and the blood, sweat and tears that your staff puts into the process of what they do.
Objectives
- Students will study and evaluate examples of how other scholastic yearbooks have shared their work.
- Students will evaluate the parts of their workflow, work product and traditions that are worthy of sharing with their readers throughout the year to bolster and maintain reader interest. (see slide 77)
- Students will develop an action plan for how best share the components of their work that they wish to share. (see slide 78)
